The Leeds Centre for HPS PhD projects
The Leeds Centre for HPS is currently developing two PhD projects for which it is actively seeking funding from a number of sources, and would be pleased to receive expressions of interest from suitably qualified applicants. The two projects are:(1) A project connected with the History of Science, Technology and Medicine collections at the University (see http://www.personal.leeds.ac.uk/~phlhpsce/).
(2) A project connected with the professonal and private papers (housed in the Brotherton Library at the University of Leeds) of the WW1-era German child psychiatrist and aphasia specialist Max Isserlin.
For (1), we are looking for candidates who will have (by the end of 2009-10) a Master's degree in History of Science, Technology and/or Medicine, Museum Studies, or a related field. For (2), prospective candidates would need to have (by the end of 2009-10) a Master's degree in History of Medicine and/or modern German history; strong German language skills are also required.
Please send expression of interest to Jon Topham (j.r.topham@leeds.ac.uk).
